Das Arabische Alphabet. Eine Annäherung / The book is a collection of writing exercise sheets that were created over a period of 8 months. The calligraphic exercises, written with various metal and bamboo nibs and ink, show the approach to an unknown writing system: from writing individual characters in isolated form, to writing several letters, to fully spelled out words. The frequent repetition of individual characters plays a central role.
